Consultation on a Proposed Traffic Regulation Order by Peak District National Park Authority: (Chapel Gate Prohibition of Mechanically Propelled Vehicles) Traffic Regulation Order 2013

The Peak District National Park Authority is proposing to make a traffic regulation order to permanently exclude all vehicles along the entire length of Chapel Gate, a 3km route which skirts Rushup Edge near Chapel-en-le-Frith.

A detailed explanation of why the Authority is proposing to make a permanent traffic regulation order as a means of managing the route is set out in the Statement of Reasons (Document 3 below).

Representations must be received by 28 June 2013.

We are aware that on the final day of the Chapel Gate consultation some people may have experienced difficulties in making a representation. As a result of this, the consultation will remain open until Thursday 4 July for those that wished to make a representation. Apologies for any inconvenience that may have resulted.

  1. your full name and either your postal address or your email address;
  2. whether you are representing your personal views or the views of an organisation;
  3. Whether your comments are in favour of the proposal, objecting to the proposal or are general comments. If your comments object to the proposal, please set out the grounds on which your objection is made.

Your response will form part of the background papers to the report to the Authority's committee and be made available for public inspection in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Access to Information Act 1985.

What happens next

Before any decision is taken whether to proceed with the making of a traffic regulation order on this route, the consultation responses will be considered by the Authority's Audit, Resources and Performance Committee. When the date of the Committee meeting is identified this will be shown on www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/troconsultations. Reports will be available the week before the meeting at www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/committees.
